G.G.'s 80th Birthday!

On Sunday, March 8, Great Grandma Lois (G.G.) celebrated her 80th birthday! Tyler and Garrett were very excited because they were able to eat lots of cake! We had birthday cake from Costco at church after both services. Tyler and Garrett had a small piece at the second service. Then Grandma Joni made a couple of angel food cakes and a cherry cake with cherry frosting to take to G.G.'s apartment complex's birthday party. Garrett was really cute when Grandma Joni was making the cakes. Uncle Mike kept trying to sneak little tastes of the cake and he was be told off by Garrett. Garrett would say, "No Unc! G.G. cake!" Garrett loves his G.G. and did not like Uncle Mike trying to get her cake. After the apartment party, we all came home and had a nice dinner G.G. requested. After dinner, we all sang "Happy Birthday" and watched Tyler and Garrett help G.G. open her presents. Uncle Tom and Aunt Shea called while we were opening presents and wished G.G. "happy birthday." G.G. was able to wish Aunt Shea a "happy birthday" because they share the same birthday. After all of the presents were opened, Tyler and Garrett helped G.G. blow out her birthday candles on a piece of cake. We had birthday cake all day but we did not have any candles till later. Justin picked out an "8" and a "0" candle. He really wanted to put eighty candles on a cake but I thought that would be too many so we compromised. We had to light the candles twice because G.G. let Tyler and Garrett blow out the candles and we had to take turns to prevent fights. I think G.G. had a good birthday. Tyler and Garrett had lots of fun helping her celebrate her big day!
